Girl time at Richmond Park
It was such a wonderful day out together, so thankful for a great friend here! Hey there everybody!
Well, I hope life is good wherever you are at. It's been a busy couple of weeks since returning home from France. There was a bit of stuff to deal with at home with the 2 kids from Ireland, Johnny and Holly went back on Tuesday and Luke is now out of the house on his own somewhere so it's got a lot quieter here. The kids were off school the week after I updated this blog so we spent a bit of time outside, jumping on the trampoline, going for walks and biking (had to help Rhiannon because she got her training wheels taken off and still can't quite get it). It was a good week and we had a bit of fun together just hanging around here. Dave was away most of the week on a work travel stint so Lynne took the kids out a few times which was a nice break for me, did some extra cleaning here. I don't usually get to clean the normal houses when the kids are off school because I am home with them all day long but I was able to do Vedrana's so it gave me
Richmond Park
Can we same very tame deer? There were 3 here and very lovely/friendly. a bit of spending money, hurray!
Saturday, 18 - I met Samantha, a new aupair from Switzerland who lives and works in Hertford now. I am going to check out Hertford at some point in the coming weeks but the time is flying and I seem to be away a lot! Anyhow, we had a good day out together, just went to the park and checked out the Wood Green shopping centre. Afterwards, we went around on the bus to check out the local areas. She came to my place, we watched a movie, had delicious chicken and chips from the traditional fish and chip shop by my house (f & C are more expensive and the chicken is seriously good).
Sunday,19- Gabi and I went to Richmond Park, it was a very spacious park to run or bike around. There were a lot of people who were riding horses too. I saw a girl nearly get bucked off but she had a beautiful recovery and slid to the side of the horse to hop off before it sat down after bucking! Anyhow, we went to Isabella Plantation and did a free guided tour of the gardens there.
Westfield Shopping Centre
I thought the lights were amazing and the musical instruments were pretty beautiful. It was fantastic...tons of information and beautiful trees, plants and flowers. After the tour we enjoyed a picnic at the Thompson's Pond. We enjoyed the great weather and got lots of sun before moving on to the rest of the park. It took up the whole day running around the park, lots of exercise! I got home in time to briefly chat and change before attending Gabi's church. She came to my church and I'd planned to go to her catholic service one evening so I figured it was due time i went! It was a nice service and good time together.
Finally, my week had gone back to normal after the holidays and it was back to the gym! I spent lots of time cleaning up the house, doing a bit of gardening in our yard, catching up on stuff here. I got to volunteer at the charity shop and catch up with the people there so that was cool. I did my usual cleaning houses and went back to my evening gym stuff. I was able to bring Gabi for free on Friday night so she experienced my crazy spin teacher's class, seemed to enjoy it too!
Columbia Road Market
Beautiful flowers everywhere, a little view of the cut flowers for you to enjoy. Are you smiling? So, the week has gone by pretty quick, one of the guinea pig's bit me the other day so Alex is quite concerned about having to look after it while i am away, doesn't want to have it anymore because it might bite him!
Saturday, 25 - I guided Gabi over to Wood Green to do some shopping for herself and later met up with Begona. We went to Portobello Market as she hasn't been there before, it was cool but way way too busy for my enjoyment so I had a yummy dessert and we moved on to Westfield Shopping Centre in White City...one of my to do's on the London list. So, it was beautiful in certain sections and lots of shops. After that, we headed to Primark as I needed a few things for Africa. I picked up the stuff and we went to a green grassy spot (with WAY too many friendly and annoying pigeons) to enjoy the sun chatting about life as an aupair. It was a good day out and I was more than happy to get home to a quiet house, watched a movie and chatted on the phone for a while
Aupair shopping party at Petticoat Lane Market
We finished up, exhausted and some of us dirt poor because of it! Lol, I was proud to be the cheapest shopper of the day! Good times being a girl, especially at this market. before bed.
Sunday - 26 - I met Gabi first thing in the morning, went to Columbia Road Market together. It's a great flower market and it was absolutely gorgeous. It took us a little while to walk there from where the bus stopped but after a while, we saw people walking around with their flowers and trees so we knew we were headed in the right direction. They had all kinds of plants, flowers and trees (lemon trees were the neatest looking trees). It was beautiful and everywhere I went, couldn't help but smile with the beauty of it all. I wasn't intending to buy much as it is tight in the budget for such things so I browsed and took pics, will go back there when I get back from Africa. I am looking forward to doing some gardening in our yard here, get some color in the place! We met up with Samantha at Liverpool Street around lunchtime and we went to Petticoat Lane Market together. It was seriously fun showing her around, some of the vendors are really hilarious. I did break down and buy a tank top, bracelet and little jacket as they were bargain deals at £1/each. So, I couldn't help it and I can use all the items! Gabi went home after spending all of her money and Samantha and I went to Camden Town. She has only been in England for 1 month so it's really her first day out in London. I showed her around Camden Market but after going to Petticoat Lane, everything else is a bit blah. Anyhow, she saw it and then we came back to my house, watched Nottinghill together. So, I am off to church tonight to take in my last service before heading to Africa.
So, i have a full day planned for tomorrow, cleaning the house, etc. and then packing for Africa. I leave for Africa on Tuesday afternoon so it's going to be a busy couple of days. I will try to update my blog while i am away but if not, you will have lots of stories to read in a couple of weeks, I return back on May 11. Thanks for keeping up with my blog and reading my sometimes drawn out stories. Hugs, Chloe
