End of the beginning
Good evening friends, old & new, welcome to my Blog. Most of you know by now that I have decided to migrate our shores, in search of an adventure in Asia. After some time thinking about my future hear in the UK, I just felt that the quality of life in London is not so good, compared with places that I have come across in my travels. Therefore I have decided to have a little time out, traveling across India. After which I will then decide on settling somewhere in Asia, to possibly teach English, as I now have a TEFL certificate under my belt, or unless anything else exciting comes up, like starting up a Logic music production school or helping out with charity. Only time will tell what will happen.
Saying that, today I just applied to volunteer at a Bhuddist temple in Thailand, called Tiger Temple -
TigerTemple.org , where you help to look after lots of Tigers - who one day decided to hang out near the temple, where the monks now look after them - in exchange for food & board, and learning the way of the Bhuddist monks. The monks are trying to raise money to build a special place for the tigers & other animals to live. So, they charge for entry to have photos taken with the Tigers, in order to raise 20,000,000 Baht, which is around £300,000, to build this complex.
This last month has been a roller coaster of emotions, saying hi’s and goodbye’s to everyone. Leaving Apple after one year of service, which was lots of fun. Especially the Logic Pro workshops, where I got paid to have fun making music in front of an audience. Some of the last sessions where the best, where I had my boss Robin, playing Bass, and Mr Stefan Vos on Electric Guitar, with me on the keys & beats, jamming for a few hours. The resulting (unfinished) track ‘When Souls Collide’ and others can be heard here -
KryptoniteRecordings - vocals & scratching to come some time in the future.
Over this last month, I have sold almost everything that I own, including half a music studio set up & a brand new iMac. I even sold my Didgeridoo to an Aussie guy. Most other things went to charity; clothes, books & DVDs etc, and the rest has been buried within peoples houses in Bournemouth. It was actually really lucky that I did give my stuff to charity, as me & my house mate Oli, only just about rammed all of my things into my Renault Clio rental car, after donating another 5 black bin bags full of stuff, not including a suitcase full of clothes. I was gonna take some of the clothes out and then thought, just have the lot, and gave them the whole suitcase.
I have managed to pack everything that I need to survive, inside one backpack, and one laptop rucksack. My music studio has metamorphosed into a new black Macbook, jam packed with Logic Studio & tons of software instruments, and samples spread across the internal 250GB hard drive & the 1 Tera Byte external drive. Lets just hope I don’t get mugged to early on. lol. We don't wont a repeat of the Mexico incident - don't ask, but if you must know, it involved a gun totting Tijuana Police officer, who thought it would be fun to handcuff me to a fat ass Mexican, and then demand money, jewelry, and a few other of my possessions, in exchange for not getting shot. So, people whatever you do, don't get drunk in TJ, and lose your friend after dark. Especially on your first day, when you don't even know the name of you hotel, which was a good thing at the time, as the cop wanted to go there to rob my friend too.
Anyway going off track a little.....So, my first stop is Delhi, India. I have booked myself a one way ticket for the 7th May. I plan to go from North to South, and then maybe across land to Thailand, depending exactly how far & difficult it is. Its funny, I am actually writing this from outside my house in London, where I have been waiting for almost 3 hours for the fookin car company to collect this damn rental car. And I cannot go anywhere as you can only park outside your house if you have a permit, or a parking ticket, which you cannot buy anywhere. And it just so happens to be the hottest day I’ve seen this year. Anyway, luckily I am picking up the Wi-Fi Internet, so I have managed to get some things sorted, like this Blog. And there goes one of them pesky rat parking wardens....they’re like sneaky little Russian’s sneaking up on you...lol....
Just received an email from the mother, telling me how I happen to be leaving on the 5th anniversary of my grandmothers passing, who as it happens was born in Simla, in India. So, it looks like I won’t be traveling alone after all. It’s funny, someone told me I’d be leaving on a family anniversary.....it looks like all of the stars are starting to align already.....lol
So, the next time you hear from me will be from Delhi, which I hear is currently 105 degrees, scorchio....until then I bid you farewell.

Well done!
Hey Ash, I wouldn't hang around in Delhi too long, once you get out of the city its much nicer. Jaipur is great. Mum lived 2 hours north of there in a place called Meerat and went to school in Simla in the Himalayas. I'm sure she is with you. Good luck on your travels and keep in touch. Just wanted you to know Natalie and Johns wedding in Italy was perfect. A good time was had by all including Diane who danced the night away. I'm sure Lesley will post photo's soon as she took some fantastic ones. We missed you though! Love Tracey xoxoxox
