Professor Gerald Grace (Director), Dr Paddy Walsh (Deputy Director) and I met to discuss matters of common interest at the Centre for Research and Development in Catholic Education. Other Centre staff include administrators Sr Maria Supavai and Mr Matt Urmenyi.

The Centre has recently published an International Handbook of Catholic Education and is preparing to launch the first edition of a Journal titled 'International Studies in Catholic Education'.

Discussion focused on our Champagnat: A Marist Journal of Education. Another name for our Journal could be Champagnat: An International Marist Journal of Charism and Education. There could be a couple of young Assistant Editors preferably from other countries, and a Managing Editor (Juliette Hughes). Our Journal is both academic and professional.

The word 'charism' appeals to some. Bryk et al in their text on Catholic schools refer to 'inspired ideology'.
