Brighton
Royal Pavilion One of my history classes went back to Brighton to see the "
Brighton Museum and Art Gallery."
It was a very random museum. It didn't have any central theme... it didn't even all have to do with Brighton. It was mostly modern stuff, but it had some historical artifacts as well. Alot of it was about
popular culture. There were displays about
fashion,
entertainment,
tourism, etc.
One area had a lot of modern
furniture, including a chair that looked like a baseball glove and a couch that looked like lips. There was also a section called the
Body Gallery which was all about body image and physical ideals in different cultures and time periods. There were exhibits on people's attempts to change their bodies through things like fashion, makeup, body piercing, tattoos, and hair styles.
