Well here i am again, writing away- theres a snow storm outside so i thought id get out of the cold.

Anyway, im in Kazan, arrived at 6am this morning it has a very different look to it from the other russian cities i have visited; There is an enormous mosque inside the kremlin and a couple of (much smaller) orthodox churches. Also a massive UFO shaped thing that is apparently a circus- other than that there is very little to do, unhappily i have already paid for a night in a monstrous soviet style hotel (15 pounds. ouch.) so i think i shall get a good sleep tonight as last night i managed only a couple of hours due to very large very fat russian chap lying on his back fully clothed, arms crossed and snoring so loud i dont see how he could have not woken himself up.

Hopefully i shall have more luck tomorrow night, on the way to Yekaterinburg if not i shall do what many of the locals do; drink liberally gallons beer and vodka in order to aid sleep.
