Hi Everybody! We are halfway to our quest of making it around the world. FYI: This is my 100th Blog! We got off the train on Sunday in Irkutsk and were happy to be met by our guide/driver - Ivan. Many people in the neighborhood of the chalet were out working in their yards on Sunday. This woman was clearing off part of her garden patch. These people are very self sufficient. They grow many of their vegetables and eat fish from the lake.

This small town was on the banks of Lake Baikal.

We had almost exactly the same thing for lunch that we had had the previous night for dinner. Borsch soup started this meal, followed by an entree of omul, a salmon-like fish.

I always thought that the eastern part of Russia was considered to be in Asia. On Travelblog, Russia is only listed under Europe. I am not sure why.
