Horta to Sao Jorge today. Before we left, we went into Peters to see the Scrimshaw Museum. Such a massive collection of so many pieces – of anything you could imagine. Many of the men used to carve portraits of their loved ones and some of them in here were just stunning. There are religious ones, self portraits and of course the whaling stories – amongst so many others. On teeth, bones, there was just so much! Had a lovely sail across, fast and smooth. Jacaranda also went out for a day sail, they might be coming to Sao Jorge tomorrow. Boomerang might also come across tomorrow. Sao Jorge is a tiny little marina set against a massive cliff. A stunning anchorage - in fact a photo of the place is on the “Atlantic Island” pilot book. Boomerang were worried there wouldn’t be room, but the harbour master said a few boats were leaving tomorrow so there should be heaps of room. Walked up to the centre of town for dinner. Once again, a lovely little town.
