Bob looking out from a park that we happened to stumble on one of our evening strolls. They also had nice picnic tables, benches, grills and even a sink for cleaning up!

This is the “bench” located near the marina. Quite different from the sandy beaches we left in the Caribbean but this one is used quite extensively by many from the village. It is quite rocky but it doesn’t stop people from using it.

The beach is rocky and black, but many of the locals use this public space regularly for swimming and picnics.

One of the most striking things about driving around Flores is the rows upon rows of hydrangeas with some roses mixed in for color.

As you drive up in elevation you see many forest of cedar on the island

It appears that every valley contains a village near the sea. What a place to call "home"

Every where you look is inviting with the wall of flowers

A section of the old road was transformed into a small park where you walk on the old stone road and enjoy a riot of color along the way.

There are plenty of stones used in the walls and the houses.

On our walk to the neighboring village the road is lined with colors.

This natural national monument of Rocha dos Bordoes is an impressive basaltic formation caused by its volcanic history of Flores.
