Magda was kind enough to send us a copy of the newspaper article in the Krakow Gazette, as well as translate it from Polish to English so that we could understand it. Here's the translated text:

Volunteers from United States were helping family with two disabled brothers.

They want to live in house without barriers.

Twelve’s group of volunteers from Thrivent Financial organization from United States was helping in constructional works for Tomasz Krzyszkiewicz. The help was able thanks to partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Polish Red Cross.

Tomasz Krzyszkiewicz is taking care of his two disabled brothers, Czarek and Konrad. Both with birth palsy, one brother is blind. Both are moving on wheelchairs.

Two years ago, Tomasz has started construction of the wooden house. But in meaning time, mother of three brothers has died, and they had to rent flat. Currently he is the sole bread-winner for the family.

"Previous house, where they were living, were not readjusting for disabled needs and were sold. Income from sale supposed to been enough for building new one. However company who were handle investment started rise prices. Money suffices only for building

it to rough level. He was trying to get a bank loan, but nobody wants to give him a loan due to his low income and the brothers being under his care" - underlines Magdalena Juwko, fundraising manager from Habitat for Humanity.

To this organization, Tomasz Krzyszkiewicz faces round for help. Organization doesn’t have affiliate in Krakow, so they invite the cooperation branch of Red Cross. Habitat assured building materials and money for accomplishing project and support of volunteers. PRC supervised building works. Above that, PRC also prepares long-term plan of support for family.
Group of Americans were handling works of building the walls, insulation, and preparing floors. They were supported by volunteers from Citibank.

Again this month will arrive to Miechow group of volunteers from England. Owing their support, brothers will move in the house among this autumn. Building is projected in that way, that everywhere will be able to move in the wheelchairs. In present apartment, Mr. Tomasz has to carry his brothers from one room to the other.

"All I want is to be able to take care of my brothers in normal conditions. I gave all my life to them and for them" - underlines Tomasz Krzyszkiewicz.
