I used to enjoy coming down to this market at the weekend although, at the end of March, the weather wasn't conducive to photography. However, there were plenty of Tulips but my eyes were drawn to the flowers of the summer!

Built in 1488 and part of the original city walls, this is now an incredible restaurant in Nieuwmarkt. I never got to visit when I lived here however, I was working here a few years ago (flitting between Amsterdam and Paris) and was fortunate enough to dine with (very) senior members of IBM (over from the US)

... otherwise known as the "Skinny Bridge". During the 1980s, women, protesting at the lack of "facilities" that were enjoyed by the males, used the bridge as an open-air toilet. They were rewarded for their efforts by their own pissoir-en!
