Edinburgh to Amsterdam

The King of Scandinavia took us from Newcastle to IJmuiden, Netherlands...despite horror stories I'd heard the sea was calm and nobody forgot to close the bow doors...so we made it to Amsterdam dry and in one piece. We only got to spend one day in Amsterdam, but it was a good one. Pedal boat ride on the canals, walking through the streets, Anne Frankhuis and "the best Frites in the Netherlands". All of which were brilliant~the only downside was trying to work out how the blimmin park and ride system works (in Dutch) and the slightly seedy (but cheap!) hotel we stayed in.
