Its just amazing, for a custom stamp and seal shop! Amsterdam is stunning, regardless of the sex and some of the tackier pot stuff, it still manages to be stunning. Probally the best part about the tourist areas (not the red light but near the Hieneken Factory) were the Japanese tourists. I dont mean in a racist way at all, they are just facinating because they come in these massive groups and all the women wear white gloves because they are scared of sickness.
The canals to the west of hte redlight are stunning, seemingly endless houses, one more beautiful then the other. When the architecture got a ltitle old there was something that would only be in Amsterdam like a sex shop next to a resturant, or a tourist trap coffee shop with a bunch of young brits falling down the stairs. The americans were the worst!! We walked past the Dampkring (the coffee shop that was in the movie Oceans 11) and a group of maybe 6 american 20 year olds were trying to see who could eat more space cake i hope the poor guys know it would take atleast and hour for their stomach to break it down to a point where they would feel it,
I dont know
I dont know what this is... it was just one of those hidden beauties in Amsterdam just like when you take Advil or any medicine. Poor guys i bet their afternoon headed south rather quickly. The city was a bit tourist oriented, i never felt like i was in Authentic Holland!!! Now that i have seen Belgium and Maastricht i know i was not seeing any of the real "BenLux" life.
For its Art, Beauty, Liberal Attitude, Rich History and for being an amazing city to walk all day it was a great city to visit, but not one to live in.
