An actual house on a boat - see the people at the front.
Hi all from Schoonebeek. Here we sit at Uncle Albert’s & Auntie Margareth’s house.

This morning was lovely weather so we went with Oom Arjen on his boat around the waters of Friesland. There were lots of sailing boats on the water as there was a large sailing race on. Jaz, you would love it here - so much water and heaps of sailing boats (Daniel’s got heaps of pictures for you). We were out on the water for a couple of hours and had a great time. We saw quite a few house boats (like an actual house on a boat - see the picture).

After we came back Tante Anna had a yummy hot lunch for us and then we went out into the town (as Tante Anna was entertaining 19 guests from church). We rode their bikes into town - hilarious! The bikes here are designed for comfort so you sit upright on big cushy seats. My bike was one where the brakes are put on pushing the pedals backwards. I was not used to this so I crashed into Daniel when I first had to stop - opps!

us down to Auntie Margareth & Uncle Albert’s house. We’re having a fun time here - it’s always a laugh with Auntie Margareth.

We went on a tour of the town - lots of the older style farm houses with the straw roofs. A really cosy town. We then went to the German boarder - where I stood in two counties at one time! It is such a funny feeling to know you’re going into another country but you have no boarder control to pass through.

Tomorrow we are off to Germany to pick up our car for the start of our adventure!
