Windy Much!!Windy Much!!Windy Much!!

America's Next Top Model here we come
After our guided tour of Pienza (guided by Eugenio's mother) we got on the bus and headed to Montepulciano.
When we arrived in Montepulciano we stepped out and almost got blown away by the fierce winds that confronted us. After we all got used to leaning into the wind the teachers told us that we had an hour for lunch so we all went our separate ways. Most of the year 9 group stayed near to chiesa di san borgio, the teachers and a mixture of age groups went to a bar to eat and keep warm.
While at the bar Elise, Josh, Matt, Pat, Luke and myself all got a deliciously hot piece of pizza which helped us warm up after the freezing temperatures outside.

While eating our pizza and chocolate we saw a few slot machines over in the corner of the bar and decided to try our luck at gambling (none us besides Elise had tried before) so on we got on the machine called "odds" and tried our luck, which I am afraid to say is not that good. Next we tried the "Bank Vault" which we finally had a win on, Elise had won 3

euro. After this surprising win we decided we like the thrill of gambling and decided to continue and see if we could win anymore. So Luke tried his luck on the "cherry slot 2", he put the money and away we went we had no idea what we were doing we just pushed random buttons so the teachers (being Alessandra and Mr DiCiccio) decided to try and help, without success, they just started pushing the buttons like us and guess what?? Luke won 12 EURO!!! we were all so excited that we had won a fair bit of money (even though we had no idea what we were doing, which made it more exciting).

After our exciting time at the bar we started our tour of Montepulciano, our tour started at la chiesa di san borgio. We learnt that this church was started but never totally finished in that one of the towers was not built to its true height. Once inside we were told that the church wasn't only used as a church but also as a theater because of the great acoustics that the dome gave it. After taking a few photos and asking a few questions

we got on the bus and all of us thought it was over (but it was only just beginning) and after a few minutes they told us to get off the bus again.

After a few minutes walk we had arrived at the wall that surrounded Montepulciano and our tour guide was explaining about the history of the town. Then we started to have a nice leisurely stroll through Montepulciano and our tour guide was explaining about this or that which we came upon on our walk, then we reached a wine cellar which we were having a tour of.

Once our tour of the cellar was over we started to walk around the town again and we were told that there was an Etruschian tomb under one of the shops so went to check that out. After we saw the tomb we were all a bit worn out so we headed back to the buses and went on our way to Bagno Vignoni.
