The Duoma Shopping TripThe Duoma Shopping TripThe Duoma Shopping Trip

This street was packed with shoppers, but it might be hard to tell in this pic
Today we spent most of the day shopping because we didnt make it out of bed until 2pm. We attempted to wake up at 10am and noon, but the darkness of our room and chill in the air kept us under the covers. It didnt help that I had only gotten about 3 hours of sleep each night since we got here. Jenn is on the prowl for some comfortable walking so that kept us busy going in and out of every shoe store imaginable which happened to be on this really long strip of shops. We ventured across that building in the picture from yesterday and finally figured out that it was the Duomo. It is a huge cathedral and somewhat strange that it is surrounded by shops, literally surrounded by shops. Although I didnt really do any shopping myself (bought one item) I did enjoy the warmth of stores. I guess when it is cold at home, I just dont linger outdoors too much, but it would be too much of a shame to stay indoors all day while traveling. We did do a good job of that with our 2pm wake up. After I declared that I had seen enough black boots for one day, we went to dinner at Trattoria Guelfa. The dinner was quite excellent and the company was fun as well. We met Bill from England who was in town for the first mens fashion show of the season. He apparently thought that we were struggling with the menu and offered his assistance since he was half italian, but I thought that kind of strange since the menu was translated in english for the most part. He suggested the wild boar and we decided to pass for a more traditional Chicken Au Gratin dish and Four Cheese pasta dish and a side of spinach (we needed some greens) and of course, a bottle of Chianti. Bill did a good job suggesting several places to visit in Italy and I think he might of convinced us to go to Rome. His favorite city in the world.

Most of our pictures didnt turn out so well because they were taken at night, so enjoy the one I did post. We promise to take better pictures soon.
