Day 4: It was the first day of class and the 3 hours at a time wasnt as bad as i thought it would be....Im in masters and monuments with just about all the girls ...it is really interesting and we go somewhere in the city everyday...today we went to a bunch of churches and cathedrals...I found a hotel that mom,dad and I can stay at when they visit. Then I had a "contemporary Italy" class and hated it with a passion. It was so long...but we get wireless in that room so i was online the whole entire class...i think i may switch into a food and culture class...much more interesting...We went to a sandwich shop and once again i got a pesto tomato and mozz panini. It is so good! i cannot get enough of them!! After all of my classes, Andrew and i went to join a gym and then to the phone store. The gym is hilarious!! it is bright orange and there are sweaty, greasy italian men everywhere, but it fits the bill. I couldnt get my phone because they didnt have the cheap one, so i need to go back tomorrow night. We were all
going to go out that night and got ready to go but ended up staying in and drinking wine at our apartment. Tuesdays most of us have no school so it was kinda lame not to go out, but we had fun so it doesnt matter.
Day 5-Today we all went to the school to book our trips...it was chaos. Kami booked paris for everyone and Amy took care of switzerland...I am so excited. We are going to Switzerland next weekend and Paris on June 12th...this weekend we are going to Rome...our train leaves at 645 am...should be difficult but worth it. It hasnt stopped raining yet which stinks but i guess that there is nothing you can do about it. I left the school while everyone was stressing about the trips and went to find some lunch and then the gym. I found this small little shop that all these old italian men own. They kept kissing my hand and calling me bella...so cute!! I got a tomato and mozz (surprise) salad and then left to go to the gym...and go t lost hahaha. Its funny cause getting lost in the USA would stress me out beyond belief but here its actually fun. I feel so safe in this city and if you dont get lost you dont find these little shops out of the touristy spots. Its so much better to find those little places. I had an awesome work out at the gym and followed brians plan to a tee. It was so nice to finally move again! On the way home i picked up my phone and ended up paying 35 euros which is pretty cheap...i get 10 euros back when i return it, so that will be nice . It was pouring ofcourse but i really needed to stop for grocery's so i went to conad on our street and got myself pasta and chick peas and sauce for dinner...its funny how my interest for cooking goes down hill when i have to cook for myself and am on a budget. Danielle came to my apt after her run and we decided to go to this small bar on our street called be bop..it had a beatles cover so we were pretty excited about that! It ended up be so awesome! the cover band was awesome. it was this small place and hot as hell..plus it was packed. Danielle met some canadian that bought us shots of rum and then pear juice to chase.. it was surprisingly good. We took 1 million pictures on the way home and decided that we had to go there every Tuesday. Oh, and the bartender...he looks EXACTLY like jon bon jovi.
Day 6- Today we had school again were so tired walking around the museums for masters and monuments. It was rough sitting through lectures about damn statues that i couldnt care any less about. After she dismissed us we went to the Oil Shoppe. It is this little hole in the wall sandwich shop with sandwiches that are out of this world...it is a must to go here when mom and dad come visit. I got foccacia with grilled veggies, pesto, turkey, and goat cheese. I cannot explain how delish it was!! When we got back i decided to change out of the contemporary italy class and into food and culture...i did it at the perfect time...he gave us all foccacia bread and then we went on a walking tour...listen to this....he showed us all the non-touristy places that he reccomends and to this italian street vendor where he bought andrew and this other girl jenna a cow stomach lining sandwich...clearly it wasnt called that and i tried it (not to o bad) but i dont know if ill ever crave it! Then we went to this chocolate store/factory...it was so good! we tried cocoa beans and then we got samples of 4 different types of chocolate bars. one had red hot pepper in it, it was so strange, but the other ones were heaven on earth. Then at the end they gave us all free gelato...OH MY GOD!! it was amazing...it was pistachio and a vanilla caramel combo...i dont even like pistachio and i was obsessing over it. I guess there are 4 of the best gelaterias in the country located in florence and that is one of them..i know why now! That class is awesome, i am so happy i switched into it.
After class i went to the gym for like 45 minutes and then found this small shop to buy wine at . I paid 3 15 euros for a huge bottle...definitely a steal!! I went back to my apt and rushed to get ready and then me lauren laura and jen walked to the boys apartment because Danielle was cooking dinner. We got there and the boys were making bruschetta. it was so cute... we all drank so much wine and played flip cup after dinner. She made pasta with chicken and veggies and it was AMAZING! I need to figure our how she made that!!! Me and laura wanted something sweet after dinner so we were going to leave and find gelato, we both didnt want to leave the apartment though so we told the boys that she was a diabetic !! haha they got so nervous and emptied their stashes for us...we ended up with oreos, milky way and cookies!! They all wanted to go to Michael Collins again but me and laura didnt want to, so we went to astro to get wine and ended up walking around to find gelato...we walked with these 3 italian guys that i talked spanish to haha! Then we went back to a store next to astro and got gelato (it was the only place open) and then we got pizza too. Everyone showed up and andrew bought me a rose from a gypsy, it was so much fun to have everyone there. When i got back to the apt the boys were all there. We hung out for a while and then i crashed.
