Day 1
We get to Milan 12 it's 3 hours from Venice.Carmen and I have our own rooms. Yay...won't have to hear her snore lol.we need to catch the metro but that's easy for us now. Finding the metro was another thing, we had walked two streets to far... But, glad we did..when we asked for directions, this man who owned a florist shop gave us roses for being Bella's. then when we were on the right track...two guys walked past us...and they smiled...so I smiled back...I looked back and they were still looking. They asked me to go over to them I said no. So they kept walking..then I turned around and they did the 360 and were coming towards us...I did the right thing and stopped...they introduced themselves...they shook our hands...we all tried to speak but they knew no English, no Spanish and we knew no Italian...dead silence they said goodbye, nice to meet you...we kept going lol.First stop.. Duomo which means the main church of the city...quiet impressive...then we walk through the shopping centre...it's where all the designers and fashionistas are...lucky I don't look like a tourist, shorts and thongs...people here dress and they dress well..even if
just window shopping or dinner...brand names everywhere...although some people wear 10 different brand names at once and they don't match...not saying Japanese....I guess that's why they call it the fashion and design capital...second largest city in Italy to Rome...We sat by this restaurant and just people watched....off to find the tourist information. Found Leonardo da Vinci museum and statue... we found the information centre to book our trip to lake Como.We found gelato along the way, we found the Castillo -, we found a really nice park, we found the church where the famous "Last Supper" by da Vinci is...no..not in Carmens dad house....we found a pub with beer and snack Buffett...but never found the tourist information...oh well !
Day 2Lake Como.
..it's one hour from Milan ....then we had to take a local ferry.......the view is amazing....there are thousands of villas on the mountains...what they call villas are mansions, castles...there is one house currently been renovated it was bought for 48 million euro...the only way you can access the towns in each mountain is by boat...There are two sides to lake Como ...west..sunny...east ...cold....most people live in the sunny side...the mountains (the alps) are covered with snow
in the winter and there is good skiing The sites and villas around lake Como have been used in movies. One George Lucas ..star wars..and the latest James Bond movie...we saw George Clooney villa...but it's up for sale..apparently Robert de Niro wants to buy it....the celebrities don't mind lake Como due to the fact they can get lots of privacy... The trip around the lake is lovely and serene...but if we don't get off soon ...we are going to fall asleep. We soon get off at Bellagio....yes ..a developer wanted to build a huge casino in Bellagio but it was refused by the Italian council...so he built it in Las Vegas instead.... Hence the Bellagio hotel was named.Bellagio..is a little town..in 1/2 hour we walked it...it's just shopping and food...we did both but we really enjoyed the view from the restaurant. You could sit there for hours. We rush back to the hotel...get ready..off we go to Bon Jovi....15 minute walk to the stadium --.. Turned to be 60 minutes...30 minute walk. Then we had to find the ticket office...which was at the other end..stadium has 17 doors we had to go to number 1.Then we had to find the
door ..then the actual seats...we had to climb 9 floors....we ran..as the show was about to start....We finally get there..we need an oxygen tank and we get a nose bleed lol....stadium is packed....guns and roses start playing..oops Bon Jovi...start and the crowd goes wild...then when they start playing ---- the white, red, blue plastics to form the American flag, the centre flies all the Italian flags. Jon gets chocked up...and has a little cry...then re- starts the song again.....the concert ends with three encores....three hours later its all ended...top concert.... First concert of their tour.... And they finish in Sydney! Think we might need to go to that too.... Who wants to buy us tickets as we wine have any money by the time we come home! Hehe.... Off to cinque terra tomorrow!!!!
