Whle we were still in South Africa, Andreas had emailed me saying that train tickets from Berlin to Milan were going on special for just a few hours and that you could only buy it in Germany at the supermarket and if I wanted he could buy these tickets for us on his credit card and then when we came to Berlin we could just pay him back the money, I could not believe the kindness of this complete stranger, he was willing to risk a lot of money on us without even meeting us and what if we never arrived in germany!!! then he would be sitting with these train tickets that he had already paid for! But we did arrive in Germany and we were so grateful to Andreas for getting the tickets for us at the greatly reduced rate. Thank you Andreas 😊

Andreas drove us to the train station very early that morning and we said our goodbyes to this wonderful man, with many promises of meeting again really soon and then we were off to Milan, our last stop on our fabulous Eurotrip.

Milan was not on our itinerary, as normally your port of

RABBIT....delicious i must say
entry into a country is also your port of departure, but Emirates was running a special at the time that we bought our plane tickets and they told us instead of backtracking all the way back to Rome, we can leave from Milan at no extra cost and we get to visit a new city as well. That worked for me. Now I had to find a host in Milan....and that was not easy....I eventually found something that looked promising, Emiliano lived in the Izago in a country house near Milan, but he was not going to be at home for the dates that we requested to stay with him😞 ....But he said that his parents lived in Milan and they would love to host us at their home, only problem was that they did not speak English. We were overjoyed because it was so difficult to find CS accomodation in Milan.

Out train form germany to Milan wasdelayed by three hours due to heavy snow. We had to change three trains one of them being in Switzerland. It was another mad rush from platfrom to platfrom trying to find the correct train as we seemed to have missed

the one we were supposed to be on, but we were not the only ones so it wasnt all that bad, and we were hungry. We also had a lot of Swiss Francs left so we decide to get something to eat at the swiss train station. I really felt like some fruit and found some delicious looking cut pineapple, but the price was ridiculous. It was cheaper to get magnum ice creams ....what a bummer 😞

We arrived in Milan 3 hours late and I thought maybe we should just book into a hotel, as we did not know our hosts and they were probably old people and were already in bed, but I am so glad that we didnt! We had to get a tram to our hosts Guillia and Evano's place. W e got onto the tram and showed some people on the tram the stop we wanted to disembark at and they nodded. As we reached our stop , every person on the tram turned around and stated pointing and telling us that this was our stop, but as we were a a bit slow and as we tried to get out, the doors started to close on Krisel's trolley bag, so we decided to get off at the next stop. We were better prepared this time, but it was a long walk back .

We found the apartment quiet easily. We arrived at the door and on the buzzer, was a huge note saying, "Dear Cindy, please press this buzzer, we are awaiting your arrival😊" Thank goodness we did not book into that hotel!! We pressed the buzzer and a few seconds later a group of about 8 people came down to meet us, all excitedly, welcoming us, smiling, hugging and whisking our bags up to the apartment. It was incredible, they were incredible! Because Laura and Evano did not speak english, they had invited their friends who did speak English to come over and meet us....it was like a little welcoming party!

We were shown to our room, and then asked to freshen up as dinner was prepared and waiting (three hours already). We went into the dining room and there was this big delicious dinner laid out waiting for us. We sat down to eat with this wonderful group of people, who just could not stop smiling and fluffing around

Guillia baked
us (I think they never met Indain people from Africa before ^,^) It was just too wonderful. Then came the shocker....main meal was RABBIT!!!! We had never eaten rabbit before, Guillia told us to just try it and if we didnt like it then they would quickly order us something. We were starving and the food was delicious. The next course was cheese and I am so not a cheese person and they were so excitedly giving me all these cheeses to try...Kee later told me that she was thinking 'o poor mommy'.

After dinner Guillia showed the girls the room that she had made up for them, sleeper couch, fresh neatly folded towels, bottled water with two glasses, shampoo, face wash, lotion all on a tray, she had dimmed the lights and soft music was playing fromm a little carousel. It was magical. The girls loved it.
