Where the Italian Alps come down to meet the sea.
Five tiny little villages many that can only be accessed by the sea or a funny little railway line. This part of the Riviera is hard to access however, nonetheless, it seems to attract many backpackers. It is almost better to view it slightly from afar rather than up close as it tends to appear a bit grubby and overrun by tourists. Still, the obligatory superb Italian pizza can be washed down with a great Ligurian red right next to the sea and you can watch the world go by.
