Awaiting the thunder and lightning
Oh my! Another breathtaking day; this time in Positano north of Praiano - still on the mid western coast of Italy. This is definately more set up for tourism with boutique clothing shops, souvenirs and fine foods. Again much is closed but we found a lovely restaurant on the beach and treated ourselves to a lovely seafood lunch. Also found the best coffee so far - caffe Americano is the way to go.

This town is even more stunning than Praiano. The amazing steps, streets and buildings mounted onto precipitous cliffs is mind boggling. We saw some tools of the building trade today and gained some idea of how these seemingly inaccessible places are constructed. Powered wheel barrows, scaffolds with steps and conveyor belts not to mention cranes - big dollars we suspect.

Two more days yet in this beautiful part of the world - to Amalfi and Salerno tomorrow we think. ferry to the Isle of Capri? - maybe weather permitting. It turned quite chilly today with thunder storms further north. Definitely coat time. Ps michEl found some beautiful washed tile scraps on the beach - not old though, perhaps cast offs from the building trade that escaped

Great photos! Did you catch the bus to Positano or did you drive? I'm guessing the roads aren't as busy as they probably will be when we are there.

Travel to positano
We caught the Sita bus. 1.20 euro one way and thus us definitely the way to go. All local cars are very scratched as the roads are narrow and very narrow and winding. There is still quite a bit of traffic around and it will be chaos in busier times. Make sure you stay in places that have parking x
