Runcorn to Dublin
Today we went for a drive along the Welsh Coast through Conwy – a small medieval town founded by King Edward I in 1283. The town is enclosed by a 1.2km circuit of walls, with the castle guarding the river nearby. It was this small town that we found the smallest house in Great Britain, a little red shack with barely enough space to turn around inside!
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch was our next stop – this was a little village in Wales that seemed to have more of a sentence than a name, it’s meaning is ‘The church of Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of Tysilio by the red cave’.
After skirting the Snowdonia National Park, we crossed to the Island of Anglesey then boarded our ferry to Ireland where we arrived at Dublin after a few hours cruising on the sea crossing.
A small group of us ventured in Dublin to see the Monday night-life, finding several bars of interest in the Temple Bar district. There was such an energetic atmosphere as we listened to local musicians followed by some Irish dancers with feet so fast
our eyes could barely focus on them (or perhaps it was the Guinness!).

Hi Lachie and Sheree, We are home from our jazz weekend at Barham, we had a great time, Josie is arriving tonight on the Ballarat bus at 6-15, she will stay with us till Ross and Annette arrive home on Tuesday, Rhonda and Colin are coming tonight to stay,they will be here for dinner, then leave early in the moring for their holiday, we are looking forward to having Osker again. Your holidays sounds terrfic, we did the same trip. The boat trip was interesting, I hope the weather has improved Take Care Lots of love Nana XXX
