We made it ! Well, we finally arrived in Dublin at 8:45am (12:45am pst) . We had a delay in O'hare for mechanical failure that they had to repair.......That freaked Amber out, so we got a beer while we waited. It took us and hour and a half to figure where to meet the van rental company. They were great when we met them. We got the run down on the camper and how to drive in Ireland and were off........then...... Scott killed the van twice in driveway. Turns out first gear was a little higher up in the shifter(doesn't work well driving in 3rd). Off to the hotel- Thanks to the Garmin we borrowed we were able to go straight to the hotel... now all they need to do is make a program that tells you where to park when you can't fit in the parking garage. Luckily the hotel manager cleared a spot in an ajoined construction area and got us permission to leave it there overnight. Found a near by pub to have our first pint of guinness. Now it is time to study the map and find some dinner.
Cheers
Scott and Amber

I wonder
I wonder if Scott were to write this how different the story would be? Glad you are safe....Dad

Driving in Ireland
Fact: A disporportionate number of traffic accident victims in Ireland are foriegners . Your first pint must have tasted great. Did we ever tell you about sitting on the runway for three hours for a mechanical repair and then having to taxi back to the hanger for a pilot change because the pilot was nearing his allotted number of consecutive hours? Wish we were there. I will lift a glass to your trip.....Bob

Glad to see you arrived, BUT...
OK, I'm glad everything is OK so far and Amber made the flight OK without freaking out about the turbulance, worrying about birds getting sucked into the engine, etc., but now we want to see photos. I don't care of what, I want to see something! A castle, leprachon, a beer? :)
