wow so i have been away for almost a week! and what a week it has been... i flew into london and went straight to my friend nick's house. we proceeded to spend the day exploring east london, hit up some markets, had some tea (obviously), then met our other friend vicky for 'a couple' drinks... vicky and nick and i all lived together in a little town in australia when i worked at the tomato factory (that is a whole other story)... it was amazingly fantastic to catch up. xoxo so vicky leaves after the alloted couple of drinks, and then nick and i somehow ended up going to another bar for 'a couple' more, and then met some wicked people outside this place so went on to the next place and danced the night away... it was a rad first day in london.

the next couple days i spent doing typical tourist stuff... i explored oxford street (HOLY FUCK), and went around to all the sights... buckingham palace and all that jazz. the most interesting thing is that in trafalger sqaure, they have taken down one of the massive statues, and from now until in october sometime, every single hour of every single day they have a different person on top of the statue platfrom doing whatever the fuck they want. one lady threw paper airplanes, someone else blew bubbles, when i was there there was some lady with some sort of instrument... anyways. it's pretty cool and i was dead set on getting up there and leading an aerobics class, but the waiting list is clearly insanely long. and also i don't actually know how to teach aerobics. 😉

i met my old roomie john from sydney, oh MAN it was so wicked to catch up with him. we went for dinner with two other friends from sydney and had a grand time... then someone john and i managed to down a disgusting amount of wine and passed out, but in the morning felt fine enough to spend the day exploring camden... which is the most amazing place i have ever experienced in my life. it's like a massive, massive, amazing market that kicks any markets ass u have ever dreamed of. it's kind of like that crazy store in chinatown in vic, u think u are walking into one shop and it turns into a crazy huge marketplace... no, that doesn't even compare. it's SO WICKED tho with SUCH AMAZING stuff, i was so sad that i am a poor backpacker and couldn't buy everything... because i wanted to. i am extra glad we went there beause i wasn't super keen on the cold, unfriendly hustle and bustle of london... but camden rocked my socks off. 😊

that night, i took two long ass trains and a ferry to get to dublin... this guy eoin (i don't know what to call him... an ex-man-friend?) who i met in sydney met me at the ferry terminal at 6am (<3), and we have had a rad couple of days. explored dublin yesterday, then went to the U effing 2 concert which was probably the most amazing experience of my life... if u don't know, u2 is from ireland and the irish are insanely patriotic so the experience was epic unlike anything i have ever seen... then today we went to a national park and ran about. ireland looks exactly how u think it does: rolling green hills, cobblestone and brick... guiness on the streets... u know. u2 is playing three concerts here, so the streets and city is absolute chaos. it's electric. i picked a good weekend to be here i think. 😊 we are doing the guiness brewery tour tomorrow, the goal being for me to be a lover of it by the time i return home.

next on the agenda is going to meet my irish version of a little brother noel, he lives in a little town so i am going to hang with him for a bit and then i have no idea. i am meeting a friend in england again on the 3rd so i will have a few days to kill, i am thinking about scotland but the UK is sooo insanely ridiculously expensive... our money is worth half as much but everything costs the same as it does at home, only in pounds... i paid $4 for a bottle of water the other day.

oh and i haven't been able to access my bank at all since cibc conveniently accidently deleted my pin number when i called to ask them something, rendering my card completely useless... there was 'no technological way' to put my pin back onto my card so they had to send me a new one... which has a new number on the front... which means i can't even access my online banking to transfer any money or anything! it's been the biggest nightmare of my entire existance. it will all work out, but fucking hell. they are retarded.

anyways. that's week one for u, i will keep updating as the adventures continue!
