O'Connell street on our first night in Dublin.
Hey Everyone,
Fall is coming to a close here in Oxford. Some of the trees are so beautiful and majestic this time of year. Looking out our back window there are several trees that bask in the sunlight with red, orange, and yellow colors as their trunks twist, curl, turn around each other to almost 50 feet high. But it is quite cold here, and (of course) off and on rainy. I can't believe that we have now been in Oxford for two whole months. It is amazing that we will be headed home in under a month and a half. I know I will miss it, but i'm also kind of longing for home right now too.
Anyway, I thought I might share a long gone trip that 4 of my friends and I took on our first travel break. We visited Dublin, Ireland on 17th and 18th of September. My friends were David Henry (from Alaska), Mary Walreth (from Austin, Texas), Holly Perkins (from Colorado), and Joanna Vallejos (from California). We stayed right down down near the O'Connell street which is the main street of the metropolis that is Dublin. We really enjoyed our time there visiting

or seeing The Great Spire, Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, The National Museum of Archeology, the Dublin Castle, and the Chester Beatty Library. It was even sunny while we were there. The Irish people were much friendlier and less reserved than the British; they would actually look us in the eye. And Dublin seemed much more modern than Oxford (though still very much older than the States). Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Sincerely,
Chris
