The view on the bus ride from airport to Reykjavik After another slack night in my ridiculously nice hotel in Oslo, and a huge free breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, plus the trademark cereal covered in yogurt (which got a few funny looks) I made my way to the airport. A 3 hour flight later and I was landing in Iceland.
Before the plane even touched the ground I was thinking to myself, I have got to come back here sometime. The landscape was unereal, mainly volcanic rocks and mosses. The airport is about 50km from Reykjavik so I caught the shuttle bus into the city, and made my way to the camp ground. I decided after bashing my budget at the hotel I would do some camping. Issue One: 8 degrees and raining like death. Issue Two: The amount of condensation that accumulated inside my tent almost made it seem like I was just laying outside. I'm not too sure the point of a tent that is not usable at all in the rain. After a brief bout of rage, I ended up deciding that I was at least still warm in my sleeping bag, and that my bags were water proof, so the issue wasn't overly huge.

My feelings exactly...A billboard for the National Art Gallery.. having a flight and another time zone change, I was tired so I went to sleep early and woke up early. 4 o'clock early. So I headed for a shower and was out wandering around Reykjavik by 5 a.m. I checked out the coast and got to watch the sunrise. It rained on and off the whole time which lasted about 3 hours, and ended with a walk through the Reykjavik Botanical Gardens. And I don't care what you think. I walked the Botanical Gardens. And I liked it. Next on tap is a couple more days in Reykjavik and then a journey out into the country...
