We walked into Komarno last evening before dinner and saw some of the sites of the this historic town. There is a lovely town square where the buildings are well restored and painted with lots of restaurants around. It looks very inviting. You only have to go a street or two back though and the age and "wear and tear" are plainly visible. Dinner was at an italian restaurant where the food was quite good. This morning we left our lovely lodgings after a chat with our host at about 8:30am and it was already hot. Not much we can do about that except try and have our rides finish as early as possible when the temperature is this high. Egy kis Dunakanyar és Visegrád is befigyelt, tűző nap, felséta a Fellegvárhoz. Itt kiemelném, hogy a fellegvar alatti piheno-kilato teruletre is csak 1valahanyszaz froncsis beugroval lehet bemenni, ezert fotozasra ajanlom a kicsit lejjebb levo Viktorin setany kilatojat.... ezutan nagy körsétat tettem a Panorámaúton vissza Visegrádra, (Feketemalomvölgy vagy valami hasonlón keresztül). Utana kis masszazs a Visegrad Royal Club Hotelben, majd ismet kirandulas, Fő utcan a vár mellett végig a Salamon toronyig, ott egy picit föl, majd dunaparton vissza. jó hír: a Kismarosi kompkikötöben a pitenburger mellett langosos nyílt tegnap, kicsi és drága de friss! ... read more

Kis lelkes csapat verődött össze az idei nagy Rám szakadék mászásra, melynek első valamire való eseménye a Dömös Postai kiszállás volt a buszból. Annyi negatív szankara szakadt fel a társaságból, hogy a Fröccsöntőbe menekültünk lelki sebeink balzsamozására, szörnyű kapuccsinókkal, finom sörökkel, és a már már tradícionálissá vált túrórudikkal... ezután uj barátunkat, Nick-et vezettük be a magyar spirituális túrázás rejtelmeibe: minden volt, ami egy jó túrán kell, sör, uj nevek adása, sziklaugrás, fán keresztülmászás, baleset, halál, feltámadás, transzfiguráció, jelenés, szél (bőven, mindenkitől), fokhagyma, tanösvény. Délutánra Dobogóköre értünk, szépkilátást néztünk, unokatesómmal, Jakabbal söröztünk aki bicajjal tekert föl, majd Pomázon vártunk még egy kicsit, hogy jó késő legyen mire hazaérünk (és a buzikarneválnak tuti vége legyen). Of all the places I have visted thus far in Europe, Hungary is the one that still bares so many scars of history; in both it's buildings and in it's people's collective memory. Hungary for me is really like the inspirational kid from the wrong end of town - a tough childhood, but determined spirit through it all, who has pulled himself up by the boot laces and is about to shine. There's something about this country I just love, some intangible combination of elements that I can't quite articulate. But I'm definently going to come back to try and find out precisely what it is!
