the three Canucksthe three Canucksthe three Canucks

Sarah, Sahra and I at the Ballet costume party.
Over the past week I have had some time to hang out with friends and enjoy life. The less hectic pace over here is allowing me to go for walks, have coffee and even dinners on 'school nights'....what a revelation!

It has been wonderful to get to know Sahra and Sarah, my two canadian pals - on Sunday night we went to a costume party held by the ballet company that they work for. It was not super-well attended but I did get to meet some of their work friends. Sarah went as a pirate....Sahra and I only popped in briefly so did not have costumes (she was 'Incognito' and I was 'Stick in the mud'...we thought it was funny!). Much karaoke was heard but, no worries, I did not add my voice to any of the performances!

Monday night saw me frantically trying to purchase extra blankets and pillows in preparation for my good friend Liz's up-coming weekend visit from London - so excited to get to see her....and we are going to go to the Gellert Bath...will report on the experience.

Last night was great fun, as I went to my friend Adel's place for dinner. She lives a few blocks from me (very convenient for future walks and visits to my place too) and is currently on maternity leave from Habitat Hungary. Her husband, Augustus, is from the US and is a former Marine....he is truly a sweetheart and it was nice to have the chance to get to know him a bit better! Their son, Barak, is 5.5 months old and the cutest little guy ever!!!! Dinner was fabulous and the time spent just chatting with Adel and playing with Barak was really wonderful.

All of this is to explain the random photos that are attached - work is going well etc etc so not really any exciting 'news' or adventures to report from here, other than the fact the washing machine in my bathroom 'walked' last night and locked me out of the bathroom by blocking the door....unfortunate, as I was just coming home from a long walk! Live and learn...from here on in the bathroom door stays open when the washer is doing its thing.

Barak was fascinated by my hair...just before this shot was taken we were snuggled on the couch all cute and cozy...and then he took a firm hold....too funny.
Finally....Finally....
Finally....

Adel and I spent ages trying to catch a shot of Barak with his toes in his mouth...this one is a keeper!
