Hey from Mykonos Island! Wow. I could easily live here forever. It's absolutely beautiful... The night of my last entry, I met up with my Contiki group in Athens, and we all went out for a tradtional Greek dinner in the Plaka (downtown) and it was a good way to meet everyone and hopefuly try to learn everyone's names. After dinner we did a bit of a pub crawl and by the end of the night, there was only a select few of us that were still goin strong. There is a good mix of people, some Aussies, some Americans, some South Africans, and 5 Canadians, 3 girls and two guys. One of the Canadian guys, Naveed, lives like, 4 blocks away from my old apartment in Montreal, which is kind of funny. The next morning, after our 5 am wake-up call, we headed to the port where we caught our 5 hour ferry to Mykonos. We played cards and acted like children due to our over-tired hungover state, until most of us managed to pass out for a little while. We arrived in Mykonos and headed over to our hotel, which overlooks the Aegean sea (its so blue!!) and then headed into town for a little walk around. The streets are narrow and they wind all over the place, and people take to driving their cars through the streets, often almost running over the tourists in the process. There are tons of cute little shops and restaurants, and the food is delicious. That night we had dinner as a group, and then headed out for a pub crawl. The first pub had traditional greek music, and some of us tried to learn how to do it, to no avail. Then we headed to another bar where we met up with 2 other contiki tours. We headed over to another bar after that called Skandinavian Bar, and it's fairly well known. Mykonos is known as a bit of a gay haven, and by the time we left the bar, it was about 95% male. Stumbling back to the hotel, we all passed out immediately. Yesterday we went down to a place called Paradise Beach, it's a compound on the other side of the island and in the afternoons, it turns into a beach club, with scantily clad dancers and lots of alcohol. We all headed to town for dinner that night, then just walked around and headed home, as we were all crashing pretty hard after partying all afternoon. Today I just walked around town and took pictures, and had the most delicious crepe ever for lunch. I figured I'd stop by the internet cafe here on my way back to the hotel and update everyone. Tomorrow we board our 3 day cruise. Hopefully this means that I wont be spending much money, because Mykonos is astronomically expensive. Think $15 for a drink. It's a little bit silly. Anyways, I suppose that's about it for now, the last few days have mostly been spent drinking, eating, and soaking up the VERY hot sun, so there's not much to update. Miss you all XOXO
