Day 5.
Today we drove to Rethymno to visit the old town, port and the Fortezza fortress. Fascinating town with lots of very narrow streets, young people everywhere - we felt like the senior citizens. Had a nice lunch and wandered around the streets soaking up the atmosphere. The fortress was built by the Venetians starting in 1573ad. The mediterrean sea was blue as the sky and very calm today. Came back to our villa and Mike went for a swim in our lounge room swimming pool. Tonight we are heading into Old Chania to have dinner at a restaurant that Doris's friend owns.
