Salzwedel, a very pretty, very old town. This still has its city gates and parts of the city wall still intact with streams running around it like a moat.

We went to find the Dassler windmill in Meseberg (about 60kms from Salzwedel).

Didn't think to look at the Sat Nav while driving around Meseberg, because once we found where it was and were driving towards it, it was showing on the Sat Nav as Muhle......duh! As it's listed on the historical places, it has an address.

Spent quite a bit of time wondering around taking pictures.

Went back to Salzwedel and tried to find out from our hosts if it was possible to phone Bernhard Sasse as his name and phone number was on the plaque outside the windmill. They don't speak much English but they got their daughter in who speaks a little English to help and went out of their way to contact the windmill foundation. The answer came back that Bernhard was not available so we thought that was that and decided to leave for Berlin in the morning, no point hanging around another day. We went out for tea and when we got back, there was a surprise waiting for us in the form of an appointment to meet with the society tomorrow afternoon at the mill, Awesome.
