Today I packed up and left Frankfurt and caught the train to Mainz. I left my bag in a locker at the station and headed for the touristy old part of town. At the end of the street I could see the town's main attraction, the cathedral. The cathedral was surrounded by Christmas markets in the nearby town squares. The Dom was also made of red sand stone and is from the 12th century- Romanesque style. Inside it was okay looking. Spent the next few hours browsing the market stalls and the old town streets. Had a final cup of mulled wine- perfect on a cool day!
By now I have had enough of Christmas markets. It was then time to catch the bus to the airport and fly back to London.
