The Berlin Wall
Standing on the wall by Check Point Charlie Kathryn was worried Berlin would be more expensive that the rest of the places visited. This was luckily not the case and we even found a cheap campsite 10min walk from the main train station, practically in the city centre. The campsite used to be a public pool and was rather cramped and run down but we weren’t too bothered. On of our regrets during our trip to large cities was not using the city bus tours. These are perfect if you are short of time but have lots to see. What a disaster. The tour was supposedly In German and English, well it was all German to me. The boring monotone expelled by the guide was embarrassingly poor. Rule number one; always stick to the recommended tour group. The only good thing was we could hop on and off at designated stops along the route, great as it poured down most of the day. We ended up seeing most of the main sights in between visits to many pubs along the way. Started with a hangover finished with a hangover.
