Bow and Arrow
Childrens Festival! Our first stop in Germany was Lake Constance. We camped there for one night, and than moved on to some friend's house, Silke and Michaels. They have 3 kids called Uwe, Heiko and Sven. We arrived there on the first day feeling tired from the big days travel, but the second day was a lot different.
On the second day, I went to a German school. Luckily, the teachers spoke English, but the rest of the class didn’t. Some knew the basic “Hellos” and “Goodbyes” but they mostly spoke German. I had to read them a short story in English. I think the class understood most of it. The story was about a frog in winter, who wanted to play in the snow. But there was a game attached to it. There was a cut out paper frog on the floor, along with cut out paper clothes. When I said things like “He put on his socks” one member of the class got up and put the paper socks on the frog. It entertained the class, when at the end of the story it said “ He put on one sock, one boot and one mitten.” We did some work.
Circus
Wasn't too good at this one. One of the work sheets was in English. We played another game. Two people went out of the room. You partner up with somebody, then you work out what animal you would pretend to be. You had to be the same animal as your partner. Then, you went away from your partner. Two people would come back into the room. They would say a persons name and that person would act as the animal that they and their partner chose. You had to do the some acting as your partner. They had to guess who you were partnered up with. I acted as a penguin and an elephant. School was a lot of fun.
After school, we went to a huge indoor playground. It had everything. Little cars, trampolines, slides, jumping castles, and so much more stuff! It was heaps of fun.
The next day, we went to the children’s festival. There was so many games. There was one where you had a circle with a hole in it that was attached to two strings. There was a little ball that was the same size as the hole. You put the ball in the hole and pull the

There was a little circus area. You can use a stick and a plate. You spin the plate on the stick. It took me a couple of goes before I could do it properly. I tried to do it in my left hand, but I failed miserably. There were stilts. Before I say another word… I failed miserably. There was a big blow up globe that you could jump onto. I don’t know why this was particularly fun, but oh well. The children’s festival was so cool.
The same day, we were reunited with Lego, something that we haven’t seen in 3 ½ months. We made a huge Lego city. I think we over did it, when we made a mansion with gun turrets at the top. Thought I’d mention that.
The next day we went to a vine yard. It was very wet. There was water running down everywhere. After the very long walk in the vine yard, we went to the bobby cart races.

Vine yard walk It was so cool. Two people were at the starting line. They would say “ Ready, Set… Go!” in German. They would run to the top of the hill (with their bobby carts ) and once they got to the top, they would sit on their bobby cart and race down. At the end, there was a shooting game. Each time you got a target, 1 second got deducted off your time. It was funny at the end because they had decorated a bobby cart to make it look like a pirate ship. It went pretty slow. Over the loud speakers I heard them say something about Johnny Depp.
The day after the bobby carts, we left Silke and Michael’s. We travelled to another house, to meet more friends, Kirsten and Peter. They have one kid called Jennifer. The day before we arrived, they got a cat. They wanted us to think of an Australian name for her. We went out to dinner with them.
The next day, we went to Lego land. It was awesome. There was so many rides. I went on one where you program what you are going to do. You get put in
Bobby Carts
Man they go fast a seat and locked in. You give them the card that you programmed what you were going to do. They put it in the machine. It is so much fun! There were lots of other rides. There was a little roller coaster where you’re in a safer version of a Lego car. Extremely fun! We went to a Lego shop. I bought 3 sets. Lego Land was fantastic. On the same day, we named the cat Tilly, short for Matilda.
The next day, we went up to a mountain. We travelled there by car, then chairlift. We mainly went up there to get down. I don’t know if that makes sense, but to get down, we took a toboggan coaster. It is the longest toboggan coaster. It was so cool. Going round the corners and not braking was the best. Unfortunately, Albert was on a playground and fell off the monkey bars. Soon after we left the mountain, we went to a hospital. He got a Green-stick Fracture. Aka, a broken arm. Splendid. We stayed another night at Kirsten and Peter’s so we could get Albert’s arm checked out in the morning.
That’s the end of my German
