Brugge
Me and Little Micky on the Eurostar! Well, on the weekend just passed, me and my friend Amy went to Brugge, Belguim. It is such a beautiful city!! Everywhere there are cobblestone roads and horse drawn carriages, and as there is everywhere in Europe, Churches!! Well the Belgians are know for there beer and chocolates and let me tell you, they do them sooooo well!!
We got there on the Friday nite, late cos we got the wrong train from Brussels, easy mistake after a few vinos on the Eurostar, and most of the restaurants where closed, so we did what any good aussie does and got on the piss! Found an irish bar that sold really cheap Belgian Beer in pints, not recommended! The beer in Belguim can range anything from 6 to 12.5 percent.
Well after two pints we thought it would be a good idea to steal the pint mugs for souveniers, and while Ames was at the bar getting two more pints (a cover so they wouldn't notice the two in my bag) I, as usual, picked up three random guys. But they were nice enough to invite us to join them, and then proceded to get us very drunk on Fruit

Me and Little Micky at the train station in Brussels Beer.
Woke up the next morning to snow falling and our heads thumping. And too late for the free breaky that came with the hotel package we got. After a quick breakfast at a local cafe, we headed off to the brewery, cos if anything cures a hangover its another beer! A few pointless facts for you, there are over 400 different types of beer brewed in Belgium and every beer has its own distinct glass to make it taste its best, a Belgian will drink over 6 litres of beer a week, and in Brugge there are over 72 chocolate shops, all because everyone who goes to chocolate school, decides to open a chocolate shop.
After a sauna and a session in the steam room back at the hotel, we made our way out to dinner, and what a choice we had. Of the dozens of restaurants in the Markt, we had two varieties to choose from. Italian and Belgian. Tough choice. Settled on the traditional Belgian dish of Mussels and Chips. Yummo!! Weird combo, but the mussels were so fresh and tasty.
Next day we went to the chocolate museum, kinda boring, went chocolate shopping,

At the Irish Bar with a Belgian Brew, not recommended to drink out of a pint lotsa fun, and sampled even more of the beer before we left, most fun, before we came home.
Awesome weekend, definetly going back in the Summer, if only for the beer!
