France is originally named after the latin word francia which means land of the franks. there are many theories to the origin of the name but they all have to agree on one theory one day. France has the largest area from all the European union and is kind of larger than Spain. France's modern borders are just like the t Gauls which was conquered by the Romans in the 2nd century. The gauls had to the tongue of the romans which was latin and also roman culture. Laon has a lot of medievil building's. One of the most important one is Cathedral Notre-dome laon. It dated back 12th and 13th century. It is now used as a courthouse. there is also a gothic cloister and an old chapel of two story's. The church of Saint martin date's back'to the 12th century. the old abbey buildings of the same foundation is used as a hospital. and there is also a mueum that contains ancient pantings and drawings. In the gardan has a chapel that contains Temprals that belong to the 12th century.
