People seem to find a favorite part of this large and exciting city. Many people say the Latin Quarter is their favorite (definitely not ours!), or perhaps St. Germain. Robarn and I continue to confirm our expensive tastes by independently deciding the little island next to Notra Dame is our favorite part of the city. Of course, real estate is most expensive on this tiny strip of land in the middle of the Seine with cobblestone streets and gorgeous old mansions that have been converted into apartments (with beautiful courtyards, of course).

Not very many tourists make it here, which is one reason why we like it so much. It's quiet and quaint. We had dinner here two nights. On Tuesday night, we just had a light dinner at a corner cafe that looked out to Notra Dame (I'm drinking a lot of Kir on this trip). On Wednesday night, we went to an AMAZING restaurant called Le Fin Gourmet. We had the menu, each of getting pillowy mushroom ravioli for our entree (meaning appetizer). For the plat (main course), I had the rabbit (complete with pesto and amazingly prepared carrots) and Robarn had the lamb served on a bed of string beans, snow peas, and carrots. For our wine, we ordered a bottle of fine Burgundy. Definitely our best meal yet.

After espresso, we stumbled out slightly tipsy and definitely full. But, I couldn't end the evening without gelato. We went down the street to a place Audrey had recommended, Amorino. I got a huge cone of coconut and chocolate gelato. It was perfect. We walked back to our hotel, going through the Latin Quarter as we made it back to the 14th. It was midnight, but the temperature was great and the streets were still bustling.
