Farewell England !
Flat as a millpond - no need for kwells... Despite a last minute panic getting the insurance documents and tax for the motorbikes, we did get away as planned on Sunday 12th October. After a very calm evening crossing, we drove off the ferry and into a deserted Cite Europe carpark to overnight before stocking up at Carrefour the next day. Driving down to Bologne on Monday afternoon, we stopped at the camperstop on the Quay front overnight and had a look around the old town.
Eager to watch Corrie on Monday night, we tried to put the Satellite dish up only to encounter a sparking inverter. Switched it off and then on again, only to find its now on fire. So no Corrie tonight. A debate followed including a discussion to return to the UK to get it fixed. All became clearer the next morning and we arranged for the company to send us a new one at a campsite in Brittany.
So giving time for the postal system to work, we've been following the Normandy Coast down into Brittany staying on free camperstops. Spent a warm weekend in Deauville parked on the Quay between the marina on one side and the river on the other. The
On the Beach at Le Portel
A cold and rainy afternoon at Le Portel nice Mairie even gave us a free electric hookup. We're now in Pontorson, a few miles away from Mont-St-Michel waiting for our new inverter to arrive. Have struck luck with the campsite as we have our own heated bathroom on the pitch so have managed to get the washing clean and dry in one day. Such luxury...
