Ah, we've been here about five days now and I am loving it! Our studio is in a great neighborhood, on the Right Bank (correcting Asaf on his earlier email), walking distance from the Louvre and Rue Montorgueil (a cute pedestrian-only street with cafes, shops and the pastry shop Marie Antoniette bought her cakes from!). Our studio is very cozy, smaller than my studio in the Tenderloin, but it's perfect for us. We've been able to walk almost everywhere.

It's been so wondeful to just take Paris in slowly, wandering the streets of different neighborhoods on different days. No real plans or schedules. We've already seen so much: the view from Montmartre, hung out in the Jardins du Luxembourg and Tuileries, walked along the Seine, saw the full moon rise over Ile de la Cite, and walked Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. I've had a crepe or croque monsieur almost every day; hopefully all this walking will counterbalance the calories.

My mom will be here in a few days; we'll spend two days in Paris with her before heading to the Loire Valley and Southern France.
