Bonjour from Paris!
Surprised that we are still here? Yeah, so are we. We woke up early this morning, debated the importance of getting to the train station early and finally decided to head over to Gare du Nord. Upon arriving, we stood in a long ticket line, silently cussed at the pushy French girls that cut the entire queue and eventually got our tickets for 2:55 to Bruges. Little did we know that the tickets really said 2:25. Guess that's how things get lost in translation. Lesson of the day: Always check the time of departure on the ticket itself.
While we were killing time before our 2:55 (really 2:25) train, we lugged our bags over to a yummy kebab diner. After sitting down, Adi decided to get a Pizza accross the way and left the four others to stare down the unattentive waiter. While sitting, waiting for his pizza, a woman dropped a crisp twenty euros right on the ground in front of Adi. And after staring for a while at the ground (possibly listening to the devil and angel on his shoulders argue) he picked up the bill and ran after the lady, only get no thanks and a disgusted look. What a man.
Meanwhile, the group enjoyed a long game of cards in the kebab restaurant and finally got their food. It was yum yum yum. And we left for the train station with a half hour to spare (or so we thought). We entered the station just in time to watch our empty seats pull away from the platform. Whoops! Of course, there were no trains to Brussels for the rest of the day.
Eleni and Sam mourned the loss of the yummy chocolate they had been anticipating all day. So, Eleni finally cracked and bought some of the best milk chocolate she has ever had from a train station vendor.

Our train leaves at 6:30 tomorrow morning and we are going to spend the hours taking on Paris by night. We returned to the Young and Happy hostel to store our bags and discussed the possibility of washing some clothes. Tonight should be fun!
