Our original plan had been to sail across the Bay of Biscay and arrive southeast of where we are currently located. Unfortunately we had spent so much time waiting for good weather in Spain that we decided we needed to move along if we were ever going to make it to Holland this season. As soon as you walk in you are struck by the high vaulted ceiling and the light coming in to the Cathedral.

The amount of light is increased by the larger and more numerous colored windows.

You can see that the arches over the windows are pointed in the Gothic architecture of the Cathedral.

The ceiling at the top of the circular staircase was quite impressive.

The Max Jacob Theatre is quite new as it was built in 1904 and used as a theatre, meeting room and hall. It is still in use today.
