On July 10th we decided to do another bus trip starting from Camaret. We had to go to Quimper again, then change buses for the ½ hour trip to Concarneau. We picked this town to travel to because it was one that we would have sailed to on the south coast of Brittany if we hadn’t made the crossing directly to Camaret from Spain. As part of the Museum of Fish we were allowed to walk around on this old fishing trawler.

Bob of course had to try out his hand at the wheel of the fishing trawler. The insert tells you how many crew were needed to run this boat.

The dining table had many dividers built in as well as cup holders so the dishes with food could remain on the table even when the boat was at sea.

As you can see this area is tidal as well as this small sailboat is currently on the hard, but later we did see her floating.

We had a chance to enjoy hearing the music played by James Kline on the unique 19 string instrument that he designed combining the guitar, celtic harp & lute. We’ve added another CD to our music collection.

Not all that we have seen is old as noted in this church we saw while walking around the main town of Concarneau. The original older church was torn down and this is now the current church.

We are still seeing palm trees even though we are in France at a latitude that is greater than Prince Edward Island!
