Uspensky Orthodox Cathedral
Completed in 1868 in the Katajanokka district of Helsinki, the Uspensky Cathedral is the largest orthodox church in Western Europe. With its golden cupolas and redbrick facade, the church is one of the clearest symbols of the Russian impact on Finnish history. Helsinki - Capital of Finland
Visit Helsinki Official Site Helsinki is a stark contrast from the old capital, Turku. It changed my initial impression of Finland. Helsinki is such a happening place.
Definitely a place worth visiting.
The
Helsinki card is worth buying. At 30 Euro (if purchased online) it provides free transportation on the public tram and buses, and even on the public ferries. In addition, it also provides free admission to several museums in Helsinki. The Helsinki card also provides 1 free audio tour around the city. but this has to be booked in advance. I managed to secure a seat when I collected the card at the train station.
