First Snow of the Year!

A November Sunday morning on Charles Bridge

It's been SOOOOO cold! And today is supposed to be a MAXIMUM of (brrrr....) minus 12!

Fortunately, a bit of snow here and there, and the Christmas - New Year festivities have distracted us from the fact that it is dark at 4pm! We got our first snow late November, and despite forecasts of a white Christmas it was not to be. 😞 Even so, Christmas in Prague is beautiful.
Christmas Day was an American-Australian affair (Dan, Eliza & Michelle; then Barry, Sarah & us). What that means is we had a big 7kg Turkey with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, but also had bon-bons and a game of cricket in the street.

Then just after new years, the snow set in for a week, leaving Prague looking incredible. I don't care what my American friends say; I can't imagine ever getting sick of living in a snowy city!

Christmas Tree Day

However the tree stand wasn't strong enough to hold the tree, and after we'd finished decorating it started to topple! Luckily Steph wedged enough screwdrivers into the base that it managed to stay upright until we got a new stand and successfully completed a decorated tree transplant!
