Dubrovnik: A world heritage site located on the Adriatic Coast, this walled city features cobbled streets and an inspiring Franciscan Monastery that was originally built in the early 14th century. This port is also our gateway to exploring Croatia’s fascinating Dalmatian Coast. The small village of Trsteno is where the fairy tale-like Arboretum can be found with its 300 year old Fountain of Neptune. The seaside resort of Cavtat is where we will find costumed performers who will entertain us with a folkloric show. Dubrovnik in the region of Dalmatia is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva county.

Dubrovnik created the world’s first maritime codes in 1272. They had a sewage system in 1296, they built Europe’s first pharmacy in 1317 . Dubrovnik created the first insurance law and company in 1395, three centuries before Lloyd’s of London, first hospital in 1347. First soap factory in 1417. Dubrovnik is only 8.2 square miles and in such a small space there are so many treasures for the tourist to experience. All in all Debrovnik was a wonderful place to visit rich in history

and culture, with many exotic sights to visit. Next to Kotor it is my preferred city. Colleen had a fall today she is okay a bit shaken up, grazed her foot and hand, she was more embarrassed by the fuss some of our tour group made over her.
