The clothes we bought since we didn't have our luggage!
Hello all!

Ok so... our flight info, we left JFK airport around 9 PM on saturday and got into
Frankfurt around 10 AM (that is 4 am US time)... we left to go to munich about an
hour later and then had a 6 HOUR LAYOVER there... but it was really neat, we were
able to go into Munich and have lunch there... it was so wonderful! Because the
world cup is this week there was alot of furvor and excitement and fans dressed up
and all that jazz! It was AWESOME!
We got into Sarajevo around 10 PM yesterday... to find out... that half of our
luggage was left in Munich! Including my personal luggage! And half the team bags
for the campsmeans that we will have a chance to be in sarajevo for the afternoon!

Last night we stayed with a host family and they were so nice! The house smelled
like my grandmother's house and she reminded me of my grandmother.
Alida and i are rooming together. So last night we got to the host house took
showers and passed out. This morning we were woken up by a little girl singing, the
woman's granddaughter had come! She was so sweet, as Alida and I ate breakfast we
chatted a little with the 8 year old named Hannah who spoke a little english,
watching some tv, and just enjoying the company.
One of the shows that came on was Pokemon... but it was in Serbo'-croatian, but i
had seen the episode years ago and remembered what was going on... and i said it was
incredible that i still remembered it!
and then 8 year old Hannah said "if you love something you will not forget it" I was
so impressed! such wisdom from an 8 year old
This morning we went and saw the tunnel that the bosnian army dug that led out of
sarajevo during the war. It was incredible... there are so many buildings here that
are still pock marked from the gunfire and shells from over ten years ago!
We also went to see the south team do their first camp! So much fun! I can't wait!

Ok I've babbled on enough and there is still a whole city to enjoy! I don't know
when i will be able to get on the computer next so until then... be happy healthy
and safe!

Volim te! (I love you)

Is Alida there too?
Somehow I thought Alida wasn´t going this time. Hi to both of you. Is Laura there too? It is great to have a TCNJ contingent. I can´t wait for you to share your insights at the symposium this fall. c.
