Inter-exam-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-vacation-day dreams
For weeks a friend and I have been thinking about going on vacation somewhere in the world. Restrictions for this endeavor are:
- budget( travel+expenses)=approx. €700
- location: somewhere hot;
- purpose: pleasure by culture and relaxation
Unfortunately, at this time, in the present day, now, we are experiencing a period in our lives that every of my fellow students despise:
EXAMS
Our first thoughts wondered towards a formula issued by our national airport in Zaventem, Belgium or like the foreigners like to call it: "Brussels Airport". This 'Last call'-formula is quite exciting because the main idea is to arrive at the airport without any reservation and just check which flights are still available...of course these flight should be cheaper than pre-booked flights, lodging is not included and you can stay as long as you want.
An interesting location that pops up once in a while is Cancun, Mexico and this only for €360!! Problem with this 'Last call'-principle is that you never know, when you arrive at the airport, where you'll be able to go to. And, quite important for a student as myself, we found out that for a fair share of the intra-European flights, pre-booking is actually cheaper. So eventually, we came across a travel agency that was discounting flights and our thoughts spaced out...
After checking a few bookstores for some Lonely Planets, Trotters and other hitchhikers guides we decided to go to
PORTUGAL!!! Monday or Thursday we will be booking our flight to
Faro, Portugal
unfortunately, I have to stop thinking about vacation and start thinking about
income tax and its legislation.
