Views from the belfry!
What can be better than climbing a belfry and taking out your map to orient yourself! Europe is brilliant for that; South America less so. Ghent and those medieval Belgium towns (Antwerp, too) are so picturesque! Looks as if you had a yummy time there. If you do return, and if St Bavos isn't being renovated, there a hugely famous (in art history circles) painting by the famous Jan van Eyck, the Ghent Altarpiece. Jan Van Eyck
Glad you loved the canal cruise. My travel book told me of the famous Jan Van Eyck painting. It was very easy for myself to get over to Belgium from the UK so will make sure I visit again. Your South American blogs look really interesting :)

Ghent
We really enjoyed our time in Ghent. Dave is a beer lover and this part of the world is grand. The foods are amazing. Your photos have done an excellent job capturing the ambience of this lovely town.
