Sorry to all of our fans haha we haven't written in forever. We have been really busy doing fun things all the time!! Allison and Ben, I guarantee you guys read this so HA!

So last weekend Michelle and I went to Brussels to meet up with friends... Tessie and Liza!! I was so excited to see them because I hadn't since before we all left school for winter break. We took the train from Gare du Nord to Brussels-Midi.. and then took the metro to our hotel. We expected Tessie and Liza to already be there when we arrived, but they were no where to be found. Regardless, we were really excited to be there!

We decided to try and find some food, so we left them a note and walked down the street. We were in a pretty lame part of Brussels because everything was closed... so we decided just to start drinking. We ended up at "Le Liberty" ... a sketchy looking bar filled with old Belgian men... perfect haha. We had our first Belgian beers.. our favorite kind was Hoegaarden... which is apparently available in most places?

Tessie and Liza finally got to the hotel and we all screamed and were really excited again. Now that I'm thinking about it... I'm a little surprised Tessie didn't start crying haha. Tessie tears woudl have been very appropriate!

We called our friend Andrew who is spending the semester in Brussels and he came to the hotel to show us around. He took us to the downtown area where we found a Thai restaurant for dinner. Don't know why we chose to eat Thai food in Belgium... whatevs. While restaurant searching we found that a group of 4 girls, one of which is 5'10 and blond, is a good way to attract attention in Brussels.

After dinner we met up with Andrew again at a bar called Celtica. I tried cherry and raspberry beer there... the raspberry tasted like cough medicine but the cherry was baller! Celtica has some sketchy dudes but was mostly really fun. There was one man sitting at the table next to us wearing a charming tshirt that said "Will F*** For Coke", and Andrew later informed us that the man playing guitar is a heroin addict... classy place.

After Celtica we went to a pretty well known bar called Delirium. They have hundreds of different kinds of beer. You could pretty much get any flavor. While we were waiting at the bar to order, Michelle and I met some girls who were also studying in Paris. We have resorted to hitting on girls to try and make some friends, Michelle gave the girl her name and said, "facebook me sometime".. bahahhahah I'm pretty sure the girl facebooked michelle... and we did get to try some of the girls banana beer... so it def wasn't a lost cause.

After Michelle and I decided there were no more friends to be made, Michelle was started to get upset because apparently no one in Brussels dances? So we moved on to the next bar, the absinthe bar. Not sure what it was actually called... but that's what we called it! We all ordered shots of absinthe except for Liza because she already knew how gross it was. I had never tried it before, but she was right! It tastes like black licorice. Ew. But the shot is fun, you get a sugar cube and a wierd spoon thing and you dip the sugar cube in the booze and put it on top of the shot on the spoon. Then you light the sugar cube on fire so it drips into the shot. When the flame goes out you mix it up and take it... it was quite a process and Michelle almost burnt her fingers off multiple times trying to use the lighter. She really liked absinthe:

We walked out to La Grand Place afterwards, which is one of the most legit medieval squares in Europe. We took lots of pictures and hollered around for a bit before ending the night at Sultan of Kebabs.. haha yikes.

Saturday morning Tessie was the only one who woke up for breakfast. She stole some croissants and fruit for us and probs looked like a total creep putting food in her bag. Oh well, thanks Tessers haha. We went back to La Grand Place to see everything in the day. We saw the Town Hall, the kings house, and a bunch of guild houses. The buildings were amazing... so detail and lots of gold. Obviously Michelle loved it!

Then we went to see Petit Juilen, aka Manneken Pis. I mean, I'm just glad that the most famous monument in my country is not a little boy peeing. It was less than 2 feet tall. Whatevs, not my country!

We spent the rest of the day walking around the city. We each got a belgian waffle with chocolate.. I pretty much died it was so good. Tessie waited in line for 45 minutes to get french fries... they were totally worth it. Then we went to lunch at some very belgian looking restaurant that was near a big market. Andrew took us to see one more part of the city, but we were all pretty spent after walking all day so we headed back to the hotel armed with wine, fruit and cheese.

After our own personal happy hour, we all got ready and went out again. We ended up back at Celtica, only this time there was a dance floor. THANK GOD. It definitely made Michelle happy. Unfortunately, when everyone else was ready to go home, Michelle was not. That's where things start to get a little fuzzy... after leaving Celtica, Michelle told Liza that I said something mean to her and stormed off. Me and Tess didn't even realize this was going on until the next morning, when Liza reminded us. However, none of us could remember what I said.... Liza did remember that while Michelle was angrily stomping away, she came extremely close to being hit by a car! Don't be so sensitive Mooshy 😉

Sunday morning we all got up for breakfast, packed up and checked out. I think the man at the front desk was sad to see us go.. he was very friendly and had a killer unibrow. We headed back to the Grand Place and went to the Brussels history museum. Tessie and Liza's flights left in the early afternoon, so it was just me and Moosh until our train left at 8. Most things were closed because it was a Sunday, so Michelle suggested we go to the Palace. Which Palace? Who knows. We picked one off the map and headed there. We ended up at the Palais du Justice... Super pretty but it was under construction. Michelle and I took it upon ourselves to go exploring because it didn't seem like anyone was there. We snuck behind some barricades, realized there was nothing really cool to look at, and called it a day. On our way back to the hotel, Michelle ran into an old and dear friend, her belated fluffy:

All in all, it was a great weekend spent with wonderful friends. And even though I said somethign nasty, Michelle and I are still deeply in love..
