After a long bus ride from Prague to Vienna we were so excited to see friends. The main reason for making a stop in Vienna is not because it is the capital of Austria or the capital of Würstelstands but because of Simone and other old friends that I haven't seen since 2000. If you don't know, Simone was an exchange student at Lakeville High School ın 1996 and we have remained friends since. We h... Read Full Entry

of course Tages and I spent most of our time in the american foods aisle (i'm so embarassed to say) drooling over Kraft Mac n Cheese, Sriracha Hot Sauce wıth the rooster on the front, other types of hot sauce, A&W rootbeer and Plochman's yellow mustard. You really never know what you will miss when you leave.

Karl Marx Hof, one of this city's largest public housing projects, embodied the hope of a better life for hundreds of thousands of workers living in squalid conditions when it opened in 1930. Situated in the city's 19th district, Karl Marx Hof's large red facade and powerful arches, not to mention its name, immediately became a symbol of the strength of the worker and the city's socialist government.

Why hello there! I have been following your blog since the beginning and have wanted to chime in so many times. I've enjoyed all the commentary and pictures that you've shared. A bunch of the places you've written about I've also been to, so it's fun to relive them through the two of you. I think the best part for me is reading about all of the random stories...the "lime" bus, the arrogant passport control people, the crazy stray dogs, missing the last flight EVER to istanbul(what are the chances?!), etc. With things like that you just have to throw up your hands and know that in time it will be a great story to tell...It seems like you've taken it all in stride which is the way to go! Have an awesome rest of your time abroad and I look forward to whatever else you post! Take care.
