Well it's already thursday. The lift we took today only runs Wed. and Thurs. It goes high

above the valley below. We took a gondola car for the next 30 minutes and then we followed

this narrow rock strewn trail for 1 1/2 hours high above the small villages.

At that point we turned back because we would have had to descend

a very steep trail down to the villages below. This day the views were all we could have expected.

Back to the cable car station and down.

Wish you could have been with us.

You bet!
you bet i wish i could be there. the hiking would be my style. i did get to hike in Switzerland once and stay in a hostel on the side of a mtn. memorable! it is amazing to me that the mtns are so rugged and above timberline, but they are not nearly as high as our CO mtns. get a good night's sleep and continue to feast on the beauty. ps.....good time to be away from the US. yucky.

Hi Nancy C. Yes the tree line is much lower here as is the starting base.

Annie. That is the gondola car termination at the upper end. (you can see the blue gondolas in some images if you look closely) also large restaurant and viewing platform.
